Each and every day children in America are being kidnapped off the streets. In the U.S. the majority of abductions, 82%, are what are termed non-custodial parental abductions. That is when one parent takes off with a child or children with the intent of keeping them away from the other parent. When most people hear about a parental abduction they think, “big deal... at least the child is with a parent”. The fact is it is a very big deal. Children abducted by a parent are not taken for the child's well-being! These kids are simply the best way for a spouse to hurt the other spouse. They are instruments of revenge, pawns utilized to show control and power.
Children abducted by a parent suffer tremendously. They are forced to live a life on the run, they don't go to school, they don't receive medical attention, they don't develop socially... all are emotionally abused, many are physically abused, some are sexually abused, and you would be surprised at the number of children who actually are murdered at the hands of a parent. Parents who kidnap their own children are not concerned about their children, they are selfish individuals who are causing sometimes irreparable damage to the very ones they are supposed to love and protect.
